How this calculator works

A transparent epoxy floor takeoff.

Floor area times coats, divided by labelled coverage, with a visible allowance for texture, cracks and coving, then rounded up to whole gallons.

Worked example. Example: a 20 × 20 ft garage, two coats at 150 ft² per gallon with 10% waste rounds to 6 gallons.

1. Measure the floor inside the walls, minus pads you will not coat.
2. Enter the coverage from the kit you will buy. 100% solids and water-based epoxy are not interchangeable.
3. Primer, flakes and topcoat are often separate kits. This page is one product’s gallons.
