Changelog

Read dated Construclytic product changes to calculators, HVAC planning, on-device plan takeoff, estimates, quotes, trust pages and public routing.

28 September 2026 — Roof shingles default to 3 bundles per square

Roof shingle calculator formula ROOF-SHINGLE-002 is now v2.1.0. The shingle type starts at 3 bundles per square, which covers 3-tab and most standard architectural shingles (GAF Timberline HDZ is about 33.3 ft² per bundle). The old default of 4 bundles overcounted those roofs by a third. Heavyweight designer shingles keep a 4-bundle option. The worked example (600 ft² footprint at 6:12 with 10% waste) now gives 23 bundles instead of 30. The size chart follows the new default, and its column headers now match the values: pitched roof area, squares and bundles. The blown-in insulation worked example now uses the same 40 × 30 ft (1,200 ft², 44 bags) attic as the example table. Carpet, laminate, metal roofing and blown-in insulation get shorter search titles and descriptions.

6 September 2026 — Unit accuracy, search and deployment reliability

Fixed metric flooring and roofing costs, unit switching, paint and sheet coverage, and metric ready-mix purchase increments. Calculator introductions now lead with the actual task. Added prominent homepage search, readable dark-mode breadcrumbs and complete social images. Formula QA records and sitemap revisions are tracked against source changes. Deployments require tests, and readiness probes check the database. Sign-in throttling persists across application restarts.

3 September 2026 — Internal QA language and cleaner search markup

Public pages now describe founder-run checks as internal testing rather than implying independent professional review. The methodology and disclaimer still state that external engineering review is not claimed. Unsupported legal-name markup, obsolete site-search action markup, calculator FAQ rich-result markup and unrelated speakable markup are removed. Homepage and founder images now use responsive Next.js image delivery. No calculator, guide or useful public URL was removed or noindexed.

1 September 2026 — Search demand: carpet, laminate, metal roof

Google Search Console showed impressions on carpet, laminate flooring, metal roof, flashing and underlayment — not the slab head term. Those five calculators now use query-matching document titles and a 40–60 word answer on the page. The homepage and the flooring/roofing guides link them directly. /tools 301s to /calculators at the edge so crawlers stop seeing two libraries. No new calculators in this pass.

31 August 2026 — Head-query how-tos for mulch, tile, pavers, decking, post holes, stain, exterior paint and furnace BTU

Eight unique how-to articles join the existing slab, paint and fence notes. Each has its own URL, HowTo markup, a calculate()-backed worked example and a planning boundary — they do not clone the calculator page. The slab how-to now answers 10×10, 12×12, 16×16 and 20×20 pads at 4 in with 8% waste (1.50, 2.00, 3.50 and 5.50 yd³ ready-mix). HVAC planning, fence stain and exterior paint get their first how-tos. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

31 August 2026 — Widget-first takeoffs, fence kit, HVAC planning and on-device plan trace

Calculator pages now put the H1 and a one-line kicker above the widget; the long answer and numbered facts sit below so a phone can type first. Diagrams are labelled isometric views. Planning cost fields start at zero — dummy $85 crew rates no longer inflate a total until you type a rate. The fencing trade grows to a real kit (stain, gates, aluminum, privacy boards, post caps) without cloning the wood-picket page. Painting adds primer, exterior and trim; exterior adds named vinyl siding; sitework adds cut-and-fill, dump-truck loads and concrete weight; roofing adds hip area and a planning snow-load; flooring adds self-level; concrete adds a solid sonotube (post-hole still subtracts the post). HVAC is a thirteenth trade with furnace-BTU and CFM planning tools — not Manual J or Manual D. Utilities add 3-4-5 check-square and pipe volume. Home shows a documentary pour-and-roof photograph. Quotes gain WhatsApp share and written payment terms; Construclytic still collects no card. /plan-takeoff traces a drawing in the browser — the image never uploads. PWA install and a feet-inch keypad land on the takeoff. Qatar/GCC currency notes sit on money-page cost copy. Catalog is 137 reviewed calculators. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

31 August 2026 — Unique titles, descriptions and People-Also-Ask on every calculator

Every reviewed calculator now has its own primary-query H1, a unique 145–165 character description, and a document title that puts units in parentheses on high-intent tools. The money-page spine covers 30 takeoffs (slab, footing, roofing, drywall, paint, board-feet, gravel, fence, waste, markup, plus rebar, CMU, brick, tile, mulch, siding, asphalt, stairs, grout, post holes, driveway, metal roofing, insulation, decking, sod, pavers, bags, ceiling paint, drywall mud and sand) with calculate()-backed answers. Geometry tools no longer inherit ready-mix planning copy. About, contact and changelog titles no longer double the brand. The calculator library server-renders the full catalog. Sitemap lastmod is 31 August 2026.

29 August 2026 — One calculator library, size charts, code citations

The public calculator library is now a single canonical URL: /calculators lists all 137 reviewed tools, grouped by trade, with search. /tools 301s there so crawlers are not asked to choose between two directories. Money pages ship a competitor-style size chart (slab: size, thickness, ready-mix, 40/60/80 lb bags) immediately under the widget, with numbered citations to the volume method, bag yields, ASTM C94, ACI slab guidance and IRC Chapter 5 — as sources for the arithmetic, not as a PE stamp.

29 August 2026 — Money-page spine, catalog lock, answer-first SEO

Ten high-intent calculators (slab, footing, roofing, drywall, paint, board-feet, gravel, fence, waste, markup) now ship the full page spine: query-matching H1, a 40–60 word answer above the widget, formula ID and version chip, lookup table, bags-versus-bulk note, metric example, People-Also-Ask FAQs, and a path into the estimate and quote letter. Document titles on those URLs use the query + units + brand pattern. Sitemap lastmod is kept; changefreq and priority stay omitted. Homepage, /tools and /calculators WebApplication markup lists 137 reviewed calculators. Contact accepts an optional page URL and acknowledges the same day. Editorial copy may use AI assistance; arithmetic stays deterministic TypeScript. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

29 August 2026 — Named founder, Person markup, unique takeoff notes

About now names Feroz Sheikh, with a public photograph, feroz@construclytic.com, X @feerozbhaii, and a Doha / Nepal location. Calculators, guides and the formula registry carry a byline. Head-term tools (slab, footing, rebar, roofing, tile, paint, drywall, fence, bags, mulch, gravel, stairs, driveway) add unique field notes and common mistakes instead of template copy. Sitemap lastmod is real. Legacy /calculator/{id} URLs 301 to /calculators/{trade}/{id}. Public pages cache; estimate, projects, admin, sign-in and quote stay private no-store. Search Console still needs the owner account to verify the property.

28 August 2026 — Google Analytics on public pages

Public pages load Google Analytics 4 (G-P2S0KDCV5L) so visits can be counted. Calculator embeds and admin screens do not load the tag. Privacy names this tracker. Do not paste the same measurement ID again in Site → Analytics or every pageview doubles.

28 August 2026 — One catalog count, working contact form, metric-first demo

Home, /tools and /calculators now share one catalog number from getPublishedCalculatorStats() — currently 137 reviewed calculators. The footer on every public page carries Calculators, Guides, How we calculate, About, Contact, Changelog, Privacy, Terms and Disclaimer. Privacy names session, theme, currency and unit-system storage and the 2–3 day deletion path. The contact form POSTs (formula correction, product feedback, source question, other) instead of only opening mail. The homepage slab demo first-paints metric when the browser language or timezone is metric-majority, using 6.0 m × 3.6 m × 100 mm. No new calculators in this pass.

27 August 2026 — Phone takeoffs stay on one screen

The currency control on a calculator no longer pushes the page sideways on a phone. Cost inputs stack under the heading, so the sheet stays the width of the screen. Scrolling the site itself is up and down only.

27 August 2026 — Shiplap, house wrap, drip edge, fill dirt and sixteen more kit takeoffs

A second high-demand set joins the catalog: shiplap, house wrap, drip edge, fill dirt, wainscoting, board-and-batten, soffit, fascia, vapor barrier, subfloor, landscape fabric, asphalt sealer, caulk, acreage, grade/slope, road base, downspout count, starter strip, ridge vent and rigid foam. Each page has its own formula ID, worked example, diagram and FAQs. Grade and acreage are geometry, not a survey or a drainage design. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

27 August 2026 — Twenty high-demand takeoffs with unique pages

Wallpaper, baseboard, crown, wire mesh, CMU grout fill, paver base, polymeric sand, gravel driveway, ice-and-water, roof sheathing, grass seed, river rock, french drain, pool volume, wheelchair ramp, baluster spacing, deck stain, epoxy floor, drywall tape and cement board join the reviewed catalog. Each page has its own formula ID, worked example, diagram, steps and FAQs. Ramp geometry is planning only — not an ADA stamp. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

27 August 2026 — Shareable takeoffs, labour hours, invoices and field PWA

Calculator URLs now keep the measurements in the query string so a slab link reopens the same numbers. Add line stays on the takeoff instead of bouncing you away. Labour is hours × a planning rate, still labelled planning. The quote letter can switch to a planning invoice with a due date — no card payment. Visited calculators cache for offline use on a phone. Curb-and-gutter, drywall compound and stone veneer join the reviewed catalog. Publishers get an embed kit at /publishers. Fake reviews are still not a feature.

27 August 2026 — Phone layout stays on one screen

The header, homepage demo and quote/estimate tables no longer push the page sideways on a phone. You can still swipe inside a wide table. Scrolling the site itself is up and down only.

27 August 2026 — Home control and scroll-away header

The header now has a Home button next to the mark. Scrolling down tucks the header away so the calculator stays in view; scrolling up brings it back. The menu stays open if you opened it.

27 August 2026 — Solo-founder trust pages and a single tool count

Public copy now uses one catalog number from code: 137 reviewed calculators. About is written as an individual founder, not a company. Footer, contact form, dated privacy/terms/disclaimer, guest data-loss warning, an interactive homepage slab demo, and the three standard calculator FAQs (formula ID, not engineering, no live prices) are live. Search Console verification still needs the owner account.

27 August 2026 — How-to and 2026 planning-cost notes

Eight unique how-to articles now sit under Guides: slab takeoff, bags vs ready-mix, 2026 slab cost ranges, CMU/brick counts, shingles, drywall sheets, wood fence runs and interior paint. Each has its own URL, HowTo and FAQ markup, a worked example and a path into the matching reviewed calculator. Cost figures stay labelled as planning — not a bid and not a local price index.

27 August 2026 — Measurement fields no longer keep a stuck zero

Feet, inches, depth, waste and planning-cost fields can be cleared and replaced from the keyboard. A leading 0 no longer sits in front of the number you type. Print takeoff hides the embed snippet — that iframe is for a website, not a printed sheet.

27 August 2026 — Line photos and embeddable calculators

Each estimate line can keep a job photo on this device and print it on the quote letter. Every calculator also has a copyable iframe snippet. Embeds are planning takeoffs, stay noindex, and are the only pages that allow framing.

27 August 2026 — Zero and empty measurements no longer crash the calculator

Clearing a width, depth or other field, or typing 0 while you replace a number, now keeps the last valid takeoff on screen and shows the validation message. It no longer white-screens the calculator.

27 August 2026 — Stairs, mortar, retaining block, vinyl fence and drywall fasteners

Added reviewed concrete-stairs, mortar-bag, retaining-block, vinyl-fence and drywall-fastener calculators. Stair volume is a triangular prism, not a code design. Mortar uses 5.5 ft³ per 100 ft² as a joint rule of thumb. Retaining-block counts exposed face only. Vinyl panels exclude gate kits. Fasteners round to 1,000-count boxes.

27 August 2026 — Diagrams, feet-inch, bag tables, multi-shape slabs and quote letterhead

Concrete slab now supports rectangle, circle and L-shape plans with a live diagram, feet-and-inch length inputs, the equation on the result, and a 40/50/60/80 lb bag table. Quote letters accept a contractor logo that stays on this device, plus Share, Copy and Email. Planning rates are labeled as planning. Dark mode is available from the header. About copy stays explicit about what Construclytic is not.

27 August 2026 — Display currency, estimate lines and printable quotes

Calculators, estimate drafts and quote letters now share one display-currency control across 38 currencies. Badge totals, cost inputs and quote amounts convert together. Each calculator add creates a new estimate line instead of overwriting the previous one, quantity changes recalculate the line total, and a print-ready quote letter is available from the local draft. FX figures are indicative planning rates, not live bank rates.

27 August 2026 — Ten more high-demand trade calculators

Added reviewed post-hole, concrete-mix, tile-thinset, ridge-cap, blown-in insulation, stucco, gutter, trench-volume, sand and chain-link calculators. Each keeps its formula, waste or rounding rule and planning boundary visible, then carries into the estimate and quote path. Volumetric mix parts are not a strength design; trench volume is not a shoring design.

27 August 2026 — ads.txt and WordPress-style site control

Administrators can now publish IAB ads.txt and app-ads.txt, plus search-engine verification, social profiles, extra menus, 301 redirects, maintenance mode, cookie notice, legal-page notes, accent color, contact details and a social share image from the protected Site screen. Empty ads.txt is not published. Calculator formulas stay reviewed.

27 August 2026 — Site control for administrators

Administrators can now change the public site title, logo, favicon, homepage copy, contact email, analytics, ads, header/footer snippets and extra CSS from the protected admin Site screen. Calculator formulas stay reviewed, and empty analytics or ads fields stay empty.

27 August 2026 — Administrator workspace

Added a protected admin panel for formula drafts and review, the live calculator catalog, member roles, project/quote support lookup, and formula audit activity. Share tokens stay hidden, counts are stored records only, engine-versus-registry coverage is honest, and the last administrator cannot be removed.

27 August 2026 — People-first SEO and calculator page clarity

Unique titles and descriptions now follow each calculator and trade. FAQ answers are visible on the page they describe, breadcrumbs match the calculators and guides hierarchy, trade guides are no longer cloned templates, and the public search box keeps a shareable URL. No ratings, reviews or company claims were invented for markup.

27 August 2026 — High-demand trade calculators

Added reviewed slab rebar, concrete block, brick, stair, fence, siding, insulation, deck board, tile grout and asphalt calculators. Each keeps its formula, waste or rounding rule and planning boundary visible, then carries into the estimate and quote path.

Formula and calculator changes

Reviewed calculator changes are associated with formula IDs and versions so saved calculations retain the version used at the time of creation.

Workflow changes

Estimate, project and quote changes are recorded when they materially affect saved records, client access, PDF content or user workflow.

Public-site changes

Routing, metadata, trust content and planning disclosures are updated when they change the public information architecture or the interpretation of a calculator page. Product questions: contact@construclytic.com.
