A transparent fence calculator takeoff.
This calculator places posts along a fence run, then counts rails, pickets and post-hole concrete bags while keeping picket waste visible.
Worked example. Example: a 100 ft run at 8 ft post spacing uses 13 posts and 12 sections. Three rails per section need 36 rails. 5.5 in pickets with 0.5 in gaps need 220 pickets after 10% waste, plus 26 bags of post concrete at 2 bags each.
- 1. Measure the fence run between the intended end posts.
- 2. Enter post spacing, rails per bay and actual picket width plus gap.
- 3. Confirm gate openings, corner posts, post depth and mix yield separately.
