Planning rates only. Pick a currency — badges, inputs, and totals follow. Material is a rate. Labour is hours × a planning hourly rate. Equipment and delivery are this-job amounts.

Planning defaults are office figures, not a bid. US ready-mix in 2026 often lands around $125–165 per cubic yard delivered; place-and-finish commonly $2–4 per square foot. Replace every rate with a supplier or crew quote before you send the letter.

How this calculator works

A transparent baseboard and trim takeoff.

This calculator takes the room perimeter, subtracts door openings where baseboard stops, applies a cutting allowance, then rounds up to whole sticks of the stock length you will buy.

Worked example. Example: a 16 × 12 ft room has 56 ft of perimeter. Two 3 ft doors leave 50 ft. With 10% waste that is 55 ft, which rounds to 4 sticks of 16 ft baseboard.
  1. 1. Measure the finished floor perimeter, or enter length and width of a rectangular room.
  2. 2. Count doors and the clear opening width — baseboard typically stops at the casing.
  3. 3. Buy whole sticks. Leftover is cheaper than a mid-install store run for one scarf joint.

Questions

Questions about baseboard and trim

Does this include quarter-round or shoe?

No. Shoe and quarter-round are a separate linear takeoff. Use another line on the estimate.

Outside corners?

Outside corners do not add length the way coped insides waste offcuts. Raise waste on a room with many miters.

What is the formula ID?

This calculator publishes formula LBR-TRM-001, version 1.0.0. The ID stays on the result and on the estimate line.

Is this engineering advice?

No. Construclytic is a planning website, not a registered engineering or contracting firm. Field checks, codes and product data still sit with you.

Does Construclytic fetch live supplier prices?

No. Costs use the rate you enter. Construclytic does not fetch live supplier prices.
