ROOF-HIP-001 is a rectangular hip: footprint plus overhangs, times the pitch factor, into squares, plus four 45° hip runs. Gable shingles stay the roofing calculator. Wings and valleys are extra lengths, not a hidden second pitch.
Worked example. Example: a 40 × 30 ft plan with 1 ft overhangs at 6:12 and 12% waste rounds to 17 squares, with hip run shown beside the squares.
