How this calculator works

A transparent brick calculator takeoff.

This calculator divides net wall area by the selected nominal brick face, then rounds whole bricks and mortar bags after a visible cut allowance.

Worked example. Example: a 20 ft × 8 ft wall with one 21 ft² door and two 15 ft² windows has 109 ft² of net area. Modular 8 × 2.67 in nominal faces need 809 bricks after 10% waste and 6 mortar bags at 140 bricks per bag.

  2. 2. Deduct openings using measured areas when they differ from the defaults.
  3. 3. Confirm the brick's nominal face and the mortar bag yield before ordering.
