How this calculator works

A transparent concrete mix calculator takeoff.

This calculator splits a known wet concrete volume into cement bags, sand and coarse aggregate using a stated volumetric ratio and a documented dry-volume factor — not a strength mix design.

Worked example. Example: 1 yd³ of wet concrete at a 1:2:4 ratio with a 1.54 dry-volume factor needs 5.94 ft³ of cement, which rounds to 6 bags at 1.0 ft³ each, plus 0.44 yd³ of sand and 0.88 yd³ of aggregate.

  2. 2. Enter the volumetric parts you intend to batch, such as 1:2:4.
  3. 3. Keep the dry-volume factor visible; it is a planning convention, not a laboratory yield.

Does this produce a PSI or mix design?

No. Volumetric parts do not replace an ACI or supplier mix design, water-cement ratio or trial batch.

Why is 1.54 shown?

Many field manuals multiply wet volume by about 1.54 to estimate dry material volume. Replace it when you have a measured yield.
